I had a fascination with music from an early age I was always listening to music so birthday presents were always radios, tape recorders and record players from my parents. However growing up in a Christian household listening to reggae music was frowned upon. I would lock myself in my room every Saturday listening to David Rodigan on Capital radio which I would record and listen back during the week. I had a book that I would write all the names of the tunes and the singers in and the ones that I really liked I would go to Dub Vendor in Clapham Junction to purchase them.

At the age of 18 I went to my first club Podium in Vauxhall and that’s where it started raving 4 or 5 times a week listening to sounds like Construction ESQ, Megatronic and Nitelife to name but a few.
As well as raving in the 80s and 90s along came the pirate radio stations where you could hear black music 247 and didn’t have to wait until Saturday night for David Rodigan!

After several years of raving I started playing at family and friends parties and I would get other bookings from this.

Whilst playing at a party around 15 years ago I was approached by a school friend Mykey Simpson who said you need to come on The Rock 926 and that’s where I started doing radio shows I was also on Sparkle radio for a couple of years.
Forward to 2024 where I started at Kurizma878 and the rest is history. Catch me on Kurizma 878 Monday nights 9pm to 11pm🙏🏾.

After years on the scene, he began DJing at family and friends’ parties, which led to further bookings. About 15 years ago, a chance encounter with school friend

Mykey Simpson brought him onto The Rock 92.6, followed by a stint on Sparkle Radio. In 2024, Robbie General joined Kurizma878 — and the rest is history.
